The Akar logo represents the many threads that weave together to put a production on stage and the resulting completed product that takes stage as a whole. The company hopes to be a part of a changing environment in which the traditional arts, both folks and classical, are produced, performed, and watched in India today.
Launching in 2019, the company has produced three full length shows:
March 2019: Yellamma & Other Stories by Shilpa Mudbi and the Urban Folk Project
July 2019: Odissi Sandhya in aid of flood relief in Orissa
August 2019: Anamika
In 2020, the company plans on producing several more shows in the space of Indian classical and folk forms.
Services include production support, marketing, design, PR, technical support, logistics, and financial management.
